Could be a shield or a sword, can't really say. I would say the drawing is rather well done for a young child. Well done MC.

Focus item. If you cant place it, it is always a focus item.

Gonna have to say it's a focus item. Does not have the look of a wand, nor a shield or sword.

(Also MC didn't draw it, one of the people in the design a weapon contest did) >.>
